On Saturday 22 September 2018 our Annual Mill Hill School Foundation Day took place. Despite the rainy weather, over 1000 current pupils, parents, staff, Old Millhillians and VIP guests came together to celebrate the occasion.
The day began with a Service of Commemoration of Benefactors in the Chapel led by Rev Dr Richard Warden, followed by speeches and a prize giving ceremony with our Guest of Honour, Tori James, the first Welsh woman to climb Mount Everest. Senior Monitors, Jay Popat and Imogen Prior, then gave their vote of thanks.
After this, guests were invited to enjoy lunch on the Head’s Lawn accompanied by The Corps of Drums who gave an outstanding display on Top Field. Our Rugby 1st XV played Haberdashers’ Aske’s Boys’ School on Top Field while our girls took part in an Inter-House Hockey Tournament. Both of these events were highly praised by guests who enjoyed showing their support.
“Once again, Foundation Day was a great event with everyone coming together to celebrate the successes of the past year. A performance by the Corps of Drums as well as hockey and rugby matches rounded the day off perfectly.” Imogen Prior (Murray).
Foundation Day is a wonderful celebration which captures the true principles which have made The Foundation a huge success; we would like to thank everyone who came and took part in the day’s events.
