House Music 2018

All staff and pupils from both Mill Hill School and The Mount, Mill Hill International competed in the final round of House Music on Thursday afternoon. Each of the twelve houses performed a house hymn followed by a massed item. Pupils and staff have been working hard for the last six weeks to prepare their programme, and many arrived in full costume for the event. Musical highlights were performances of Mr Blue Sky by Priestley House, ‘Livin’ on a prayer’ by Murray, ‘Country roads, take me home’ by St. Bees, and ‘Ain’t no mountain high enough’ by School House. Parents came to watch in the ‘VIP’ area in the balcony and were treated to tea and cake, whilst other viewers, unable to make the performance watched the live-stream from the comfort of their homes and offices. The Staff Song, a medley of some of Queen’s greatest hits led by Mr Peter Kwok, was an enormous success with all pupils, parents and staff singing loudly along!

The top three placings were as follows: Ridgeway (3rd place), Weymouth (2nd place), Burton Bank (Winners).

Other prizes were awarded as follows: Best Solo Item – Yasmin A (Weymouth), Best Ensemble – Burton Bank, Best Hymn – Weymouth, Best Massed Item – Burton Bank.
