In Reception this week the children began Phase 2 Phonics, starting with the phonemes s, a, t and p. The children have been on sound hunts around the school, painting spotty snakes and making p p p porridge to link with our text this week. In maths we have been focusing on the number 4, we have been using the story ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’ to teach the children about size and ordering and the concept of 1 more. We have also used the story to talk about friendships, talking about sharing, taking things that aren’t ours and having respect for other people’s things that are precious to them.
