The annual Belmont Rugby Festival took place last Saturday on Saturday 10th November. Over 175 players took part competing in both Under 11 and Under 13’s competitions. The weather was certainly kind to us and the rugby was superb throughout. Both competitions served up some sublime running rugby and the atmosphere created by the Belmont staff and all pupils involved was fantastic. The Belmont U11 and 1st Team showed excellent determination, resilience and character against some incredibly tough opposition with the U11 boys winning 5 out of 6 fixtures and only losing narrowly once to a strong Haberdashers outfit. The U13’s have endured a tough season and faced 3 incredibly strong teams in New Hall, Felsted and Robert Clack. Despite not coming away with a victory on the day it was pleasing to see that the boys never gave up on their pursuit and were rewarded with a well-earned draw against Felsted.
A big thank you to all the staff who helped out on the day and to the Referees who did an excellent job officiating.
