This week, Year One have read the story ‘My Mother’s Sari’, a lovely short story about the wonderful and varied uses of a mother’s sari. We noticed that the title has a possessive ‘s’. We learned what a possessive ‘s’ is and how we can use it in a sentence to show that something belongs to someone. We also learned what an apostrophe is and that the possessive ‘s’ needs one. This led us on to looking at various materials and fabrics and considering which ones would be best to wear and why.
