Tuesday 7 November: Year 2 trip to India
With their bags packed, boarding passes printed and with passports in hand Year 2 set off on their flight to India. The check in process was smooth as children went through Passport Control and Security, then excitedly took their seats on the Grimsdell Air India flight bound for Calcutta. Our inflight entertainment was a ‘Rama and Sita’ film preparing children for the Diwali celebrations they would encounter on arrival in India.
Upon landing, children were put in half class groups and were given a taste of India through a range of activities including; Bollywood Dancing, Indian drumming, Indian food tasting, Mendhi, smelling of spices and a ‘life in India’ experience through video clips.
In the afternoon children learnt about the features of a postcard and wrote a postcard home about their fun and exciting holiday to India
