Belmont hosts the EPSCA National Primary Schools Championship Zone stage-
On Sunday 54 Belmont chess players and parents arrived at the Jubilee Hall ready and prepared for battle.
10 Belmont chess teams y3-y6 competed in the first stage of the National Championships, for many it was their first experience of a chess competition.
Well done to all our teams for their enthusiasm to participate and learn. We are very proud of everyone who took part.
Congratulations to our U11A, U11B and U9A teams for qualifying to the National Semi Finals in North Wales 8-9 June. The U11B team were leading the competition for the first 4 matches and lost out in the final round to the eventual winners.
The EPSCA plate competition runs to the same schedule as the Semi Finals.
All members of chess club y3-6 are invited to join the teams at this event. Please contact the office for information.
