We have had a lovely week welcoming the children back and it has been so lovely finding out about their holidays – they couldn’t wait to share what they got for Christmas with us.
The children returned to school to find the home corner had been transformed into an aeroplane and the children have had great fun flying us to many exotic locations. They also found the outdoor house was now a garage! The children have enjoyed pretending to be mechanics and fixing the cars, diggers and bikes.
The new topic for this term is ‘On the Move’ and on Tuesday we went for a walk to observe all the things we saw moving in the world around us. The children saw vehicles, people, dogs, squirrels, the chapel bell and even their shadows. We then asked the children to talk about what they saw and what they would like to learn more about so we can follow their interests through the topic.
Today we were using our Maths skills to count objects and record how many we have in a variety of different ways.
We welcome Mrs Poole who is covering Mrs Cassidy when she is home with beautiful baby Lenny.
What a busy first week back!!
