The penultimate Fives national championships for Belmont occurred last Wednesday with the U12 team travelling to Eton College for their competition. We took two pairs: Oliver 7GT & Christian 7OM and Guy 7MT & Daniel 7AW. Both pairs made it through their groups to the knockout stage of the tournament with Christian and Oliver impressively winning their group. Unfortunately Guy and Daniel lost at this stage and went into plate B where they progressed well and had some very good matches all afternoon. Christian and Oliver won their first knockout match to reach the last 16 where they then had a very good match against Ipswich. Unfortunately they lost this 2-1 and by only 2 points in the final set. There was a chance for a quick visit to the original fives court and then time to head back to school!
