The Arkwright Scholarship Exam

This week we were delighted to hear that Fifth Form pupil, Keon K (Murray) had passed the gruelling Arkwright Scholarship exam just one week after sitting his mock GCSE’s; this award marks the School’s sixth year of success with the Arkwright organisation. Keon is now preparing for a final interview at Brunel University where he will present a complex practical project of his own devising, and showcase his determination to enter the world of engineering.

An Arkwright Scholarship is a nationally recognised award that provides over £1,000 for pupils moving into the Sixth Form to fund project work or attend events/courses linked to their area of engineering interest. In addition, pupils benefit from the services of a professional mentor to help support and guide their engagement; this has proved invaluable in securing two recent leavers the opportunity of studying Aerospace Engineering at Southampton University.

Any Remove pupils interested in applying for a scholarship in 2020 should see Ms Banks in the Design Technology Department for more details.
