This week in Nursery…

Wow, what a busy but enjoyable Book Week!

The children have loved having the parents in as Mystery Readers. Thank you to all of those that came!

The children have enjoyed their funky fingers session again this week, especially throwing small hoops onto cones. They were better than the teachers by the end of the week.

Pupils learnt the action and song for the sound ‘n’ and used newspaper to decorate their sound card.

The children have enjoyed looking at the story ‘Dear Zoo’. Over the week the children have been matching pictures from the story, weighing the animals and painting or drawing one of the animals from the story.

They also enjoyed learning all about why we celebrate Pancake Day on Tuesday and enjoyed the special treat of pancakes and syrup at snack time.

The children loved sharing their favourite book in the ‘Show and Tell’ session on Wednesday. They spoke in great detail about their books and many children knew them off by heart. It is amazing to see the children’s love of books.

The children looked wonderful dressed up on Thursday. They confidently told everyone what they were dressed up as and which book they were from. They also enjoyed the visit from the author Kellie Strom.

Today the children had great fun in their Forest School session. They had a go at flipping pancakes in the mud kitchen and tried to find animals that were hidden around the forest.
