This week in Reception we have really been getting into our topic. The children have been using their sea animal knowledge to write facts about a chosen fish or creature, making sure to think about the difference between a fact and an opinion. We have also been using our imagination to pretend we are Scuba Divers, using our typing skills to type what we can see while diving. The children have also been using different methods to create sea animals and water scenes. In Phonics we have been revising previously learnt sounds, especially ‘ur’, ‘oi’ and ‘ow’, and been introduced to ‘er’ and ‘igh’. In Maths we have been using fish to help practise our addition and subtraction, thinking about holding a number in our head to count on or back from.
