What a fantastic start to the term Year 2 have had! Our new ‘Treasures of the Deep’ topic got off to a splash with a scavenger hunt that required the children to solve clues in order to find the next location, ultimately leading us to a treasure chest in the Science Garden. Inside were lots of items left by someone called Jacques Cousteau and we had to infer who they might be. Having decided that we think he must be a diver; we were lucky enough to be visited by Diver Dean who answered all our questions about what it is like to be a scuba diver and what equipment you need to breathe underwater. It also turns out that we have our very own diving expert in the Year group in Leo, who shared a fantastic presentation on his own diving experiences with each class. We cannot wait to find out where our topic will take us next!
