Belmont Ball for a Wall 2019

On a warm evening last Saturday, over 200 parents, alumni and friends of Belmont School gathered at Saracens’ Allianz Park for the Ball For A Wall. The event was a huge success, with over £50,000 raised and donations still coming in at the time of writing. Just as satisfying was to see such a great turnout and spirit of enjoyment on the evening – the strength of community at Belmont and across the Mill Hill School Foundation is something we are truly proud of.

After a drinks reception welcome with the Belmont Jazz Band, guests were treated to performances by Belmont pupil Zoe Simon (currently starring in London’s West End) and Amma Ris (who has build a substantial reputation after a string of television and radio performances). After dinner, TOTEM (“the ultimate party band”!) turned the Ball into an impromptu dance party with a range of hits into the early hours. Thanks to a huge outpouring of generosity from local businesses and friends of the school, a glittering range of prizes were available in a Silent Auction. This was twinned with a Live Auction hosted by MC and former England rugby star David Flatman. Bidding wars ensued, with over £26,000 flying in for a dinner with Saracens’ European Player of the Year Alex Goode, a Tottenham Hotspur fan package, the chance to drive an Audi R8 supercar for a week, plus a range of food and leisure items and even the chance to be the Head of Belmont for a day (who knows what teachers and pupils are in for…!) After a wonderful dinner and before TOTEM’s showstopping live set, there was a surprise for guests – fireworks viewed from the main stand at Allianz Park (click on the photo link below to see for yourself!) We were grateful to share the moment with the many people who have made both the event and the wider Sports Hall campaign a success.

Special thanks go to Saracens Rugby Club and MBN Promotions for organising a truly memorable evening, the various corporate sponsors and benefactors who donated auction prizes, and the Friends of Belmont and Grimsdell Parents’ Association groups.
