Today we went to the Joseph Centre and met with the young leaders. We then travelled to the community pitch for the first time where we were accompanied by the village children who were happy to be with us yet making us happy to be with them. This already began to be a sombre yet enriching experience as we coached the young leaders and involved ourselves in the games.
A tough but enjoyable coaching session was followed by an intense and detailed first aid training session. This was eye opening as we realised how important and vital the knowledge would be as we would be teaching over 700 children over the next four days. To cap the day off we finished with a couple rounds of cricket and football at the rest camp to relax and recover in order to prepare for the first training with the children.
