Avast! In Reception this week we have been learning about pirates! Our focus story was My Granny is a Pirate! We thought about how to describe the Granny pirate. We also listed what pirates need to do, from burying treasure to capturing ships, and created treasure maps, messages in bottles and pirate hats. Floating and sinking has been investigated, using junk model boats, and we have practiced our typing using Purple Mash. In phonics we have been revising all our previously learned sounds and tricky words and using them to write creative sentences. In maths we have been looking at comparisons of number, using maths vocabulary more, less, bigger, smaller, fewer, most, least to describe numbers and groups of objects.
