Year 2 performed their end of year play, Pirates vs Mermaids last week at the Patrick Troughton Theatre at Mill Hill School. It was a wonderfully funny and very enjoyable show with all children shining on stage. They spoke clearly with confidence and flair and they were all in character throughout the performance. Under the expert guidance of Mrs Wakefield, they sang beautifully with enthusiasm and energy. Also many thanks to the parents for the superb costumes. Congratulations to all of Year 2 on a terrific show.
Year 2 had an incredible visit to Sea Life Adventure in Southend on Monday. We travelled by coach, arriving in at the aquarium with time for a snack before we started exploring. The children were amazed by the size of the fish we found as we entered the centre. We moved around in class groups taking time to stop at exhibits which interested the children. They were delighted to see black tip sharks as we walked through a glass tunnel as we have been learning about sharks during our topic this term. Each child had a different highlight of their trip and of course lunch was a favourite!
The most enjoyable part of the trip was the time the children had to play on the beach. We brought buckets and spades which the children shared beautifully between themselves, with some making sandcastles and others collecting crabs.
