This week saw the start of our new Ukulele club. The children were very excited and learnt how to play the C chord and have started to work on ‘Count on Me’ by Bruno Mars.
In Reception task time the children played with some of the percussion instruments and after exploring the way they felt and the sound that they made they separated them into two categories, wood or metal, we found out that some instruments fell into both categories.
In Year 1 task time the children learnt to sing ‘Down on the Farm’ which tells the story of the ‘Little Red Hen’. We explored the percussion instruments to see which sounds would suit the different animals in the song and had fun playing with the vibra-slap, kazoo and whistles.
