In English we have been continuing to take a deeper look into our story from Russia ‘Masha and the Firebird’. We have written descriptions of the Firebird using all the fantastic vocabulary we have been learning over the last couple of weeks. In the story, the Firebird asks Masha to hide his eggs from Baba Yaga so we investigated some traditional eggs in the form of Fabergé Eggs. We were fascinated to discover that a Fabergé egg is considered to be any one of only about 70 jeweled eggs made by Peter Carl Fabergé between 1885 and 1917. They were considered exquisite gifts that Czars gave to their wives. In DT, we then designed and very carefully made our own beautiful Fabergé inspired eggs.
