This week, Year One have begun to read ‘Snowy’ by Berlie Doherty and Keith Bowen, a story about a girl’s love for her family, her life on a narrowboat and, most of all, her love for her boat horse, Snowy. The children were surprised by the fact that some people choose to live on a boat instead of a house. We closely examined a picture of Snowy and collected describing words for her and we learned that these words are called ‘adjectives’. We used these adjectives to write a description of Snowy.
In Forest School, we collected many pretty autumn leaves from the ground and used these to create tree decorations with other materials such as sticks, wool, and feathers.
