Reception had an exciting start to the term, they went on a BEAR HUNT!!!!
We took them around the grounds through sticky mud, swishy grass, swirling whirling snow and at the end, the children found the bear fast asleep in its cave. The children have been working all week basing their learning on ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ by Michael Rosen. They have been sequencing the story, acting it out in the small world and we have even begun to grow our own swishy grass in each classroom. We have also been reading the book ‘We’re going on a Lion hunt’ by David Axtel in our guided reading sessions, talking about similarities and differences between the two texts. We have also been talking about our holidays, catching up on our news and teaching firework safety. We hope many of you will enjoy the firework display this weekend.
