This week, Year One went on a trip to Waterways Experiences where they experienced riding on a canal boat on the Grand Union Canal. The children also experienced opening and closing locks as well as steering the boat. Some of the children asked where the horse was and admitted that pulling a canal boat must have been very tiring for a horse before boat engines were invented.
