This week in Reception…

This week in Reception we have continued to discover more about the creature that came through our classroom. REJ and RAB have been finding out even more facts about Dinosaurs, while RHD have started to wonder whether it was a Dragon!

We have really focused on our listening skills this week, listening to each other and working together. This all links to our learning friend Bertie the Bee. We have been taking turns in our play, listening to each other’s ideas as well as some lovely child initiated drawings of our learning friend.

In maths we have been looking further at measurement and this week have explored capacity. We have been using language such as full, half full and empty and ordering containers. We found it a bit tricky when we noticed that taller containers held less water than the shorter ones.

We have continued to learn more digraphs and even a trigraph this week, ai, ee, igh, oa. We have been saying the phrase ‘when two vowels go walking, the first one does the talking’. I wonder if you can remember our vowel song.

This week really has put smiles in our tummies and sunshine in our brains.
