This week in Year 1, the focus has been on becoming a ‘radical recycler’. Through an exploration of materials, their properties, and where they come from, to help decide our use of them and evaluate whether they are a good choice for our environment. We wrote riddles based on properties of different materials. In Maths, we have begun adding using the regrouping method of ‘think 10’. All of the children have really impressed us with their resilience and attitudes toward learning and mastering the new concept.
