Visit to St George’s Park

Mill Hill’s senior football teams ended the first half-term of the season with a trip to St. George’s Park, the national training centre.

Players were treated to a day in the life of a professional footballer, with a warm-up and dynamic movement session on the track followed by an outdoor training session. The football was rounded off with a game on the indoor 3G pitch, a space designed to match exactly the measurements of the pitch at Wembley Stadium. The day finished with a hydrotherapy session to aid recovery, with players testing out the hot/cold contrast pools and the underwater treadmill.

With England’s U16 squad also in the building training on the day, our players got a brief glimpse of the standard demonstrated by international footballers of a similar age to themselves. Something to aspire to as they head into the second half of the season!
