We have had a great book week in Nursery. The children have enjoyed exploring the story ‘Farmer duck’, re-telling the story and pretending to be farmers.
The children started off the week looking at the new sound ‘n’ and decorating their sound card with newspaper. We also looked at newspapers and highlighted sounds that we recognised on the page. We explored the Numicon shapes and hid them in straw for a puzzle game. We also made farm animals using shapes and the playdough.
We have had lots of visitors reading stories to us this week which we have loved. We have had buddy reading with a Reception class, Belmont children came in to read stories and many teachers for the teacher run. However, the children have loved having all the parents in to be mystery readers the most. Thank you to all the parents that have come in so far and we are looking forward to more parents next week.
We had a wonderful visit from a fantastic author on Tuesday. His name was Timothy Knapman and he shared lots of his lovely stories with us including ‘Supermum’ and ‘Superdad’ which the children loved.
The children all looked amazing on Thursday dressed up as their favourite book character, we had a little cat walk-in class and the children showed off their costumes.
Today we had great fun in Forest School. The children were able to explore the environment for longer and we reminded them about all the rules.
