This week in Year 1 our focus is shifting to learning all about bees, to become a ‘Bee Buddy’. On Tuesday we had a beekeeper or apiarist come in to visit and demonstrate what he does to take care of his bees and why bees are so important to our world. In Forest School our focus was on finding minibeasts which were extra special as all of Year 1 had the opportunity to have Forest School altogether. As part of Science Week, we had various scientific experiences at Belmont and with students from MMHI. In maths, we have been exploring different ways to make numbers from 11 to 20, including addition and subtraction functions. We revisited our number bonds to 10 and the relationship between number bonds, looking at the pattern of 10 and some more.
