Book of the Week: A Paralympian’s Story

As we continue our celebrations for Black History Month, this week I’d like to recommend something a little different.

A Paralympic medal winner, commentator and a successful TV presenter, Ade Adepitan has led a remarkable life.

Find out Ade’s story, from growing up in Nigeria with a disability, to developing his passion for sport, to receiving an MBE, in this inspirational autobiography A Paralympian’s Story.

This short autobiography is packed with exciting details, colourful photographs and gorgeous watercolour illustrations. The book follows Ade’s journey from his early childhood in Nigeria to his time at school and his sports career.

This book is ideal for Lower School, though older readers will also find much to enjoy in it!

Since writing this book Ade has also turned to writing fiction, with his Cyborg Cat series proving popular amongst young readers (if you’d like to borrow these from the Library, just email me.)

I would recommend this title to anyone who enjoys biographies, anyone who loves sport, or anyone who wants to learn more about an inspirational British person!
