We are delighted to announce that Belmont and Mill Hill are joining forces with Hampstead and Westminster Hockey club- one of the largest and most successful clubs in the UK.
The new partnership will see the brand new AstroTurf facility becoming home to the Junior section of HWHC from November onwards.
Boys and girls from Year 3 to Year 13 will have the opportunity to join the club, regardless of previous experience or playing ability. Nicola White MBE, an Olympic Gold medallist and recent signing for Hampstead is leading the new Junior Section. Her experience of 186 International caps and 13 senior medals will, I’m sure, prove inspirational for any budding hockey player.
Nicola will be joined by our newly appointed Foundation Head of Hockey, Mr Kwan Browne. Kwan joins us having had a glittering career representing Trinidad and Tobago at the Commonwealth Games, Pan American Games and Pan American Cup. As well as being Head of Hockey at Mill Hill he is the senior men’s 1st team coach at Hampstead and Westminster Hockey Club and is currently part of the England and GB team’s men’s coaching staff. We are thrilled to have him as part of coaching team for both school and our new, joint venture with HWHC.
Junior colts training (U8-U13s) with Nicola will take place from 9.00am on Sunday’s with the first session being Sunday 8th November. Pupils in Year 9-13 will train on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. The club is open to all children in the Borough and we hope it will be a roaring success. It will be based at Mill Hill School
