This has been Year 1’s second week of becoming tree experts.
In Art, we painted the background to our woodland scenes and then added the trees on top using a range of media such as oil pastels and collage.
The children also completed their first full round of Task Time which involved activities related to being woodland dwellers and tree experts.
In Literacy, the children learned that a verb is a ‘doing word’ or ‘action word’ and created their own poems using a range of verbs describing the different activities that animals do.
This was inspired by the ‘Wild Child’ who “runs with the rabbits and swims with the fish”.
In Maths, we have continued to work with numbers up to 10 and have found many different ways to show the same number using two parts and three parts.
