Our Belmont Community: Meet Our Staff

Meet Miss Williams, a Year 5 teacher here at Belmont.

Miss Williams is in her third year teaching at Belmont now. We spoke to her to find out a little more about her, and to ask her her favourite things about our school.

What is your favourite subject to teach?

Can I have two? I love teaching maths to the children, I really like challenging them and teaching new concepts. I especially love those ‘ah-ha!’ moments when they suddenly understand a concept, that’s the best bit about maths.

I also love teaching CLP (our Creative Learning Project we do every term), and I find this is a definite favourite amongst the children and staff too. It opens up a world of knowledge and allows pupils and staff to exert some creativity.

This term our CLP topic is Egyptian Pharaohs, and we’ve been discussing Black History Month and putting together presentations on that too.

What is your favourite thing about Belmont?

When you join Belmont you feel like a part of the family, it is such a welcoming place. We have amazing opportunities here too, for the pupils, and the staff!

Can you describe Belmont in three words?

Exciting, invigorating and eclectic.

Something you didn’t know about me is…

Before I was a teacher, I used to be a sub-editor on a glossy magazine! But I find the children’s writing much more interesting than that ever was!
