This week’s Book of the Week comes from Maxwell in Year 4, who has been working really hard towards his Silver Advanced Reading Challenge badge.
His choice is Hubert Horatio: How to Raise your Grown-Ups by the former Children’s Laureate, author and illustrator Lauren Child.
Maxwell writes:
“This book is about a boy called Hubert Horatio and his very rich and irresponsible parents.
Horatio is very intelligent and clever boy and he can do many things, almost everything he puts his mind to.
He is also a very responsible boy because his parents are very irresponsible and they waste all their wealth by buying useless stuff, like pretty jewels, new cars, islands, condos, all those things very rich people can buy. They host a lot of parties and get in a lot of trouble and mischief and this is where Hubert has to be responsible and take action to stop them from getting into trouble.
I like this book and recommend it. It is strange and cool. That’s why I recommend this book and you should try it too!”
If you’d like to try reading Maxwell’s suggestion, you can reserve it by clicking here and clicking on ‘Make a reserve/booking’. (You’ll need your Belmont username!)
Merry Christmas and happy reading, everyone!
