Our week started by listening to the story of St Andrew and learning why people from Scotland celebrate St Andrew’s Day each year. We chose to either make our own Scottish flag, try some Scottish shortbread or research facts about Scotland.
In English, we learnt how to create our own story map for the Hansel and Gretel story which then helped us when we came to writing our own version of the story in the next lesson.
First, we focused on the introduction and build-up of the story and then focusing on the problem that occurs in the story. Finally remembering to include the resolution and the ending.
The children learnt about road safety and they worked hard to show us they understood the lesson when we walked to Belmont Games on Wednesday.
We also took time to make our own Christingles for the service on Friday.
