Nursery went on another journey, this time on a train to India! We learnt a popular Indian children’s game called ‘In Pin’ that is sung in Hindi. The Nursery children blew me away with their ability to learn a song in a language that is completely new to them. We played the game whilst singing the song which involved passing around a shaker in time to the beat, a concept they are becoming very skilled at.
Reception had a good time in ‘task time’ this week exploring the different percussion instruments that we have at school. Initially they experimented independently and tried to make sounds in many different ways. We then spoke about and practised the correct technique used to play them including any special beaters that were required. We chose our favourite instruments and used them to play the pulse of some songs that we love.
