Our Mill Hill Community: Meet Our Staff

Meet Miss Parry, Music Graduate Assistant here at Mill Hill

How long have you worked at Mill Hill?

I have only been working at Mill Hill since September, but it already feels like ages! Every single member of staff is so lovely and welcoming, as are the pupils.

What does your role involve?

I am the Music Graduate Assistant, so my main responsibility is liaising with the peripatetic teachers and ensuring the smooth running of the instrumental lesson timetables. We have just over 200 music lessons taking place during the week so there’s usually quite a lot to do! I also lead a few of our musical ensembles, such as string groups and choirs, which I absolutely love doing. I am a tutor for the Removes in Murray House, and I also work as a Visiting Tutor in two of the boarding houses: Burton Bank and St Bees.

What is your favourite thing about Mill Hill?

My favourite thing about the school is the community and the beautiful location. The grounds are spectacular, and it is such a joy to be surrounded by so much gorgeous nature. The camaraderie amongst the staff is also wonderful. I helped to organise this year’s Christmas video, and the willingness to get involved was really amazing! You can watch the video here!

Can you describe Mill Hill in three words?

Encouraging, exciting, vivacious.

Can you tell us something we might not know about you?

I worked in a prison as part of one of my university courses!
