The children have had a wonderful week in Nursery.
We looked at the sounds e and o. They enjoyed learning the actions and decorating their sound cards with orange colours and decorating them to look like Elmer the elephant. We spent some time looking at their wordless books in great detail. I encouraged the children to talk about what they could see and asked questions to develop their inference skills linked to the time of the day, the weather and feelings.
On Tuesday the children received another letter from Mimiko. She told us all about wearing Kimono’s and we played a maths game working on our number bonds to 5 using this as our focus. She also told us all about Koinobori which are carp shaped kites. The children had wonderful fun making their own and running around the playground with them seeing how they move in the wind.
On Wednesday the children became fashion designers and made their own Kimonos. They cut out material and stuck on sequins to make very individual designs.
An extra activity we got to enjoy this week was Yoga. This was taught by Mrs Altbach and the children loved joining in and following all her instructions. They especially liked the ‘tree pose’. J
Today the children had the best fun for Eid party day. They enjoyed taking part in lots of party games, dancing and singing. We also got creative making Eid cards, doing cooking and reading stories to learn more about this celebration.
