This week in Year 1 the children have been looking at the text ‘The Great Wave’ a compelling story beautifully illustrated by the Japanese artist Hokusai.
The children researched and learnt facts about the famous artist and in our art lesson, the children emulated the great wave by learning to sketch an outline of the wave and then using it a guide.
Some children decided to use different mediums to add colour to their drawing.
