We were delighted to welcome back Old Millhillians Ellen (OM, Murray) playing the cello, and Zany (OM, McClure) on the piano – they played Grieg’s Cello Sonata in A minor, Op. 36 for us beautifully.
Ellen is currently a Scholar at the Royal Academy of Music and, amongst a whole host of other prizes, last year was the only cellist to reach the Strings Category Final of the BBC Young Musician of 2020.
Zany is currently studying at the Royal Northern College of Music with Murray McLachlan and has also won an impressive array of awards, including 2nd prize in the RNCM’s Concerto Competition in 2021.
It was great to welcome them both back to Mill Hill and we’d like to thank them for taking the time to play for us, we hope to see them again soon!
