What a busy week it has been in Year One! We started the week with a ‘Thrive in Five’ assembly which reminded us how we can spread positivity and happiness as well as be our own super-selfers by putting in our ‘ten out of ten’ best effort. The children thought carefully about what this means and have begun to apply some of the ideas within their attitude towards their learning.
In Literacy this week, we learned that an adjective is a describing word and we collected adjectives to describe ourselves. We then used these in our writing to create descriptive sentences about our appearance and personalities.
In Science, we continued learning about the human body and our five senses. We thought carefully about how our senses help us in our day-to-day lives.
Year One had their very first Task Time sessions this week and enjoyed participating in a range of short and engaging activities around the school.
