This week in Topic we began our research into our new text ‘Princess and the Pea’. Understanding what a Prince and Princess is was the initial focus and the children are now experts on what characteristics and traits are needed and what they have in common. At the end of the week, the children pretended they wanted to marry a Prince/Princess and used persuasive writing to try and convince them.
The children had their first session of the Paws b mindfulness curriculum on Tuesday with Ms Moir. They were focused and enthusiastic neuroscientists who began to learn about a vital part of our brain called the prefrontal cortex. We learnt that when we learn new skills we use our prefrontal cortex and it can help us to concentrate, make choices and be our best.
