Lower School Reading Challenge

It has been a great start to the new academic year for the Lower School Reading Challenge, with a number of children working hard to read 10 books and produce some wonderful reviews during the summer holidays and over the course of the half term.

Congratulations to the following who have been awarded their Reading Challenge badges this half term:

Autumn Term
Bronze Amy 3NC, Eesan 4EP
Bronze Advanced Dylan 5SB, Tiana 5TW
Silver Ava 5SB, Soha 5AD, Maxi 5AD
Silver Advanced Naya 5TW, Millie 5JD, Ava 5SB
Gold Joshua 5JD
Gold Advanced Alicia 6AH
Diamond Alicia 6AH
Diamond Advanced Alicia 6AH, Maxwell 5JD

NB – efforts have been made to ensure that all those who have received badges this term are named above. If your child’s name has been left out, this is an oversight on my part and I do apologise. Please do contact me and I will ensure that they are recognised next time.

Reading regularly is key to good academic progress and also supports their mental health and reading a wide range of different genres and exploring different topics, aiming for a balance of entertainment and challenge. Children can continue to work towards their Reading Challenge badges over the summer and I very much look forward to awarding many badges in the second half of the Autumn Term. Information on how the challenge works can be found on Firefly or your child can speak to their form teacher.
