This Week in Reception!

A fantastic week in Reception.  Continuing with our Black History Month celebrations the children all took part in African dance workshops and made African necklaces to reinforce the sound ‘n’ as part of our phonics lessons.

Also in phonics we have been doing some fantastic number printing which was great fun, cutting out snakes for ‘s’ and writing ‘ch’ in chilly snow.  In maths we have been focussing on the number 3 and also counting up to 10 objects with accuracy.

We have been reading the story of The Three Little Pigs and acting it out the story in our role play and small world areas.  You may find some pig stick puppets coming home, which the children have made, and can use at home to tell the story.

In RHH and RAB the children have been working on their self-portraits which I am sure you will agree look amazing! And in REJ the children have been loving a maths games based on the rhyme ’10 in a bed’.
