Our Belmont Community: Meet Ms Scanlan

This term we have welcomed Ms Scanlan to our Belmont community who has joined us as Senior Deputy Head (Pastoral).

We sat down with Ms Scanlan to find out a bit more about her and her first impressions of Belmont!

What is your role here at Belmont?

I am the Deputy Head Pastoral Care. I also teach History and games.

What have been your impressions of Belmont so far?

Belmont is a caring school that strives to give it’s pupils an exciting and engaging school day, every day. It is dedicated to bringing out the best in each pupil.

What are you most looking forward to about working here at Belmont?

Teaching the pupils, they are so energetic and engaged, it is so much fun teaching here.

Can you describe Belmont in three words?

Happy, motivated, inclusive.

Can you tell us something we might not know about you?

I love old movies like ‘Roman Holiday’ and ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s.’

I have a secret hobby of skateboarding but due to my age (being old) I find it a bit embarrassing to admit this to the pupils. I also absolutely love cruising on my landyacht dinghy!
