Remembrance Service 2021

Yesterday, for the first time in two years, the whole school joined the Call to Remembrance, lining up in reverent silence in front of the school’s Gate of Honour to mark Armistice Day, remembering and honouring all those who have fought and fallen for our freedom.

Wreaths were laid on behalf of the pupils, staff, CCF and governors of Mill Hill School and the Old Millhillians.

After the act of remembrance, guests, staff, Upper Sixth Form pupils and Old Millhillians attended a moving Chapel Service led by our new Chaplain, Rev Antony Wilson, during which Mrs Sanchez read out the names of the fallen.

Those staff and pupils who did not attend the service watched a moving and informative historical account presented by Mr Dickinson, Head of History and Politics.

Huge thanks go to Mr Kyle, Director of Musical Performance who led the Chapel Choir, Major Norrington who oversaw the CCF Guard of Honour (a tradition since 2018) supported by Regimental Sergeant Major Albrecht, and Miss Randell, Head of Art, and the Art Department who, along with a team of staff and pupils, crafted and painted poppy designs on bunting which were ceremonially placed on the Chapel Lawn.
