It has been so lovely to welcome the children back to school this week and hear about all of their holiday news. They have settled back into their routines exceptionally well and are once again enjoying their London topic.
This week, we began to read a new story called ‘Katie in London’. We predicted what might happen in the story by looking closely at the cover and described the opening scene of London using adjectives. We then discovered the lion in the story and used action words ending in the suffix –ing to describe his movement out of Trafalgar Square. We also learned that a verb is a doing word. We then looked closely at the picture of the leaping lion and drew our own large leaping lions.
In RE, we learned about the importance of light in many different religions, including Hinduism and that Diwali is known as the festival of light.
