This Week in Nursery!

We’ve had a fantastic week in Nursery. We received another postcard from Stickman and he told us that he had now travelled to Antarctica. This resulted in us exploring all about the animals that live in the Artic and Antarctica.

The children found an igloo and some penguin friends in the role play area. They have loved reading stories, making a den and getting cosy in this space.

The children enjoyed learning our new sound ‘a’ and decorating their sound card with apple colours.

We also went on a name hunt around the school this week. The children explored the corridors with their clipboards and had to find their name, ticking it off and then having a go at writing it.

On Tuesday we looked at the number 1, we counted out 1 and decorated a number 1 using only 1 colour sticker. It was all about the value of 1.

On Wednesday in Nursery all the children became authors. We read the story ‘That’s not my snowman…’ and the children created their own snowman page and described it. We have published it and are going to place it in the library so our friends in school can have a read too.

Today we explored animals and sorted them in relation to where they live. We also had a go at doing some Yoga. The children were fantastic at following the instructions.
