This week in PE…

The Nursery children have been using hoops to continue developing their spatial and body awareness, crossing the midline, and building upper and lower body strength this week.

Hoops are natural space markers! They define a space that is big enough for kids to move around in, while still maintaining a safe distance from others.

The pupils had to choose a hoop and then, follow different instructions such as:’ to stand inside the hoop. Then, put one foot outside the hoop, while keeping the other foot inside and run around the hoop as fast as possible keeping one foot in and one foot out.  Then switch feet and direction; stand outside the hoop and jump in and then out the other side; jump sideways; put their feet inside the hoop and their hands outside the hoop so they were in a plank pose, etc.

They found so many different ways of using the hoop!
