What an exciting and eventful week in Reception! On Monday we read the story Mr Creep the Crook by Allan Ahlberg which is a book about a thief who tries to do better and make good choices. On Tuesday the children found that the Reception classrooms had been BURGLED!!!!! And they took all our SMILIES!!!! We have been making posters to ensure the rest of the school keep a watchful eye on their smilies and to help catch the culprit. Many a staff member has been stopped and searched by the Reception children to see if they have any smilies hidden in their pockets. Who could it be? For PSED we read the book The Colour Monster by Anna Llenas. We have used the story to talk about our feelings and think of some strategies to help if we are feeling worried, anxious, sad or angry. We have also made pots for each feeling so the children can put a lolly stick with their name on in the pot to show us how they are feeling in the morning. This is a great opportunity for us to discuss how the children are feeling and how we can help them or help them to help themselves. In Maths we have been looking at 2d and 3d shapes, naming them and looking at properties. Can you spot any 2d or 3d shapes in your home?
