Mr Dweck – An Alumni Pupil Who Came Back to Teach

Meet Old Millhillian, Richard Dweck. Richard was a pupil at Mill Hill School in McClure House from 1996-2001. We spoke to him to learn more about his life during and after his time at Mill Hill School.

Since having been a pupil at Mill Hill School what have you been doing?

I am a Biology teacher and the Head of Innovation and Enterprise at Mill Hill School. I had such a fantastic time as a pupil at the school that I could not keep away!

What has been the highlight of your career at Mill Hill School so far?

A really great moment in my career was leading a world challenge trip to Peru with 15 pupils.

Can you share a memorable moment from your time as a pupil at Mill Hill School?

One of my favourite memories from Mill Hill School is when I went on a Rugby and Cricket tour with the 1st team to South Africa and Barbados. This was an amazing opportunity to travel to exotic locations with my best friends and play sports!

When you were a pupil at Mill Hill School who was your favourite teacher and why?

This has to be Mr Plummer. He was an amazing teacher, sports coach, and housemaster. I have also been fortunate enough to work with him as a colleague. He is truly the epitome of what the Mill Hill School institution stands for.

Can you tell us anything that you think would be of interest to the Mill Hill School community?

Mill Hill School is a unique environment that nurtures so much more than the academic future of its pupils. It is a family and the relationships you forge whilst at the school will last a lifetime.
