Dr Dusza – Acting Head of Physics

We spoke with our Acting Head of Physics Dr Dusza (covering Mrs Bailey’s maternity leave) to find out more about him and his role at Mill Hill School!

How long have you worked at Mill Hill School?

I started my role in January 2022. During this time I have really thrown myself into school life. I’m enjoying it so much it feels as though I have been at Mill Hill School for a year already!

What does your role as Head of Physics involve?

I manage the Physics Department, this involves giving guidance and support to my colleagues in the department. Other duties involve creating resources and delivering lessons to the highest standard. I also teach pupils in Fifth Form to Upper Sixth. It has been a pleasure to get to know the pupils and see their passion for learning physics.

What is your favourite thing about Mill Hill School?

It is hard to choose just one thing! My department is outstanding, the teachers are enthusiastic, experienced and dedicated. There is a fantastic community spirit amongst us. I have also been very impressed by the co-curricular activities offered to pupils and staff at Mill Hill School. The spectrum of activities allows our students to broaden their knowledge, interests and passions. And finally, the food here is absolutely lovely!

Do you have any advice for our pupils which could help them to get the most out of their time at Mill Hill School?

I would encourage pupils to get involved in school life and all of the activities on offer. Mill Hill School is a very positive and vibrant place and it provides a great opportunity for pupils to discover their interests, so take advantage of that!

Finally, can you tell us something that we might not know about you?

I like to get involved in a range of activities in my spare time. Since I studied at university, I have met with friends to play board games on the weekend – there are always lots of great snacks involved! I also play a lot of badminton. At the moment I play around 10 hours per week and I wish I could do even more!
